Can I transfer the licence to a new PC?
Yes. This is a Retail licence: once you’ve uninstalled or formatted your old computer, you can activate Windows 10 Enterprise on the new one. The licence can only be active on one PC at a time.
Windows is already installed: do I need to reinstall it?
No. If Windows 10 is already installed on your PC, just enter the product key under Settings → Update & Security → Activation. If you have Windows 10 Pro, the product key upgrades your system to the Enterprise edition without formatting and without losing your data (starting from Windows 10 Home, you’ll need a clean install instead). If you’re starting with a new PC or want a clean installation, you’ll find the official download link in your email.
Does Windows 10 still receive updates?
Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025: it still installs, activates and runs normally, but Microsoft no longer releases free security updates (the paid ESU programme is available). It’s the right choice for PCs that aren’t compatible with Windows 11 or when you need maximum compatibility with existing software and peripherals.
